Starry starry night!

As Christmas is fast approaching, I thought it couldn’t be more appropriate than to write about Dolce & Gabbana’s current star fetish, which has taken the fashion world by storm.

Trendy out in Dubai due to the Harpers Bazaar November issue featuring Kim Kardashian all in stars on her trip to the city with lights, its so simple but everyone seems to have fallen for it.

For many, you either prefer stars or stripes.  For example I prefer stars as I find it much more complimentary on the figure and also slightly more edgy and fairy like.

But that’s just my opinion, what do you think?

For me the stars theme also brings out something patriotic. We’ve also seen the Union Jack hit the stores like crazy this year which I must admit I have an obsession for myself.

Check out celebs taking the trends to a whole new level!

I want never gets..

If only I had room for this .....

Dear Santa...

When waiting for payday .. window shopping come's to mind!

Although unbearable when picking out beautiful pieces knowing that theirs no money in the bank .. one can dream.

Still living in Dubai, today I strolled down Marina Walk (the area in which I'm staying) and came across some wonderful places.. the first that comes to my mind is Waitrose .. which reminded me a bit too much of home and how weird it is going to be spending Christmas in the sun.. is it crazy to wish for crisp cold air and a log fire?

When I stopped dreaming in Waitrose, I started another kind of dreaming in the beautiful store 'Boutique 1' in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Boutique 1 is a fabulous shopping experience, shop advisors so kind they follow you around picking  up the pieces you want to try on and that isn't even their private shopping service. They will also on request, let you have the shop to yourself and let you private shop after opening hours. INSANE!

Still lusting after Missoni a few of the things that will be on my christmas list are:

1. Missoni playsuit
2. Missoni dress
3. Acne waterproof boots
4. Haute Hippy leather shorts
5. Matthew Williamson sunglasses

I know its out of the question but a girl can have fun believing a fairy godmother was watching over to grant those wishes.

What are you going to put on your christmas list?

xoxo

Here are a few pictures of the outfits I tried on:

Todays outfit
Sunglasses - Matthew Williamson (Window Shopping)
Peace sign - Camden
Top - Topshop
Shorts- Primark
Boots - Zara
Bag - Jimmy Choo

Iconic print of the moment.

Boho but chic, the print my post is based on today is one of the most recognised around - MISSONI!

Right now though it is the print everyone is lusting after, so much that high street brands such as New Look, River Island, Accessorise and Forever 21 have started to copy it, but why ?

                                                                   River Island's take on Missoni

As in every season there are a few trends this winter and as ever hippy is playing a massive part in that.

This print has been around for along time, but most recently caught my eye as I was rummaging through my mother's wardrobe as the fabric is beautiful and so eye catching. Let's just hope she doesn't notice anything missing.

Two celeb's I have recently seen rocking this trend are Nicole Richie and the newbie to the scene Elizabeth Olsen, who unlike here sisters who are both my idols sport's a more chic and solitary look.(see below)

I love Missoni myself and my dream purchases are the converse (i can find them NOWHERE) and also the Maxi dress below!!

I have managed to collect a few things on the way though.

1. A scarf - which to my Mother's annoyance I wear around my head
2. A hair tie which shamefully I have not used
3. The Classic Missoni bikini which has been used TOO much!

How I would love to be Margherita Missoni and have access to all those wonderful things, my eyes would be popping out like a kid in a candy shop!

The Perfect Biker Boot !

Well it's been yet another busy week with the release of my single The Silly Song , quite exciting but nerve racking at the same time !

So I thought this evening I would share my thoughts on ' The Perfect Biker Boot '!

Boots are a staple item in my wardrobe and even though I'm currently working in Dubai where the heat is 32 degrees I'm still managing to wear them.

So I'm going to share with you my 3 favourite pairs and my reasoning for this in price ascending order.

1. Kurt Geiger Veronica

Simple yet stylish , this boot is perfect to mix with any outfit to give it that rock chick edge ! £140

2. Ash Trash Boot

This is my favourite and actually one of my preferred items of footwear in my wardrobe, there a bit different and although a girly girl probably wouldn't wear them , they make a statement! £295

3. Jimmy Choo Biker Boot

A slightly smarter version of the previous two , these have RABBIT FUR LINING !  I have pre ordered a pair as they are currently sold out , I've been wanting them for about a year as they are a bit spendy , lets hope The Silly Song sells !!!!! £700

Hope you guys have a lovely weekend !

Sounds that hound!

My new addiction this week is the website sound cloud, clearly i'm a late comer as it appears most of my friends already have got membership but any way I have found some beautiful mixes of songs I love! Two of which I am going to share with you.

The first is a remix of Florence and the Machine's - What the water gave me , this is a a track from her second album. Florence Welch to me is a goddess, her echoing effortless voice always sends shivers down my spine. Seeing her live has been one of the highlights of my life so far, so much that she moved me to tears, her energy and stage presence is unlike anything i've seen before.
Take time to listen to this track, I promise you will not be disappointed!

The Second is from Birdy a 14 year old with the voice of an angel, she has taken quirky, fresh tracks and made them her own. Absolutely loving this remix of Shelter originally by The XX!

Lights deep in the ocean!

Sorry guys it's been a while massively hectic week, fashion shows, work and SANDANCE!

The week started nice and calm as I hadn't had a big weekend so for once didn't start the week tired as I normally do! This was until Edd decided to return to Dubai on his birthday so OBVIOUSLY I had to go out for drinks and after that my week fell slightly out of sync!

This was until Thursday evening when myself and Edd got invited to spend the evening at the 360' club at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, a beautiful setting located basically in the middle of the sea. The only way to get there is by golf buggy which come very occasionally, which resulted in us getting a bit stuck at a few dead ends. This was a wonderful evening and as the temperature here is dropping, quite cool! ( a few weeks ago you could not sit outside without breaking into a horrible and very unattractive sweat)

Then came Friday , when actually not much occurred due to the fact I'd drunk far too much house wine on the previous evening how ever I ploughed through as the most exciting evening was ahead 'Sandance' a festival located on the other side of Nasimi Beach near the Atlantis.
There was a tremendous line-up Richard Ashcroft , Example and Chicane.
Richard Ashcroft from The Verve is a childhood favourite of mine and Example well thats just a guilty pleasure. Never ever have I looked so disgusting as I entered the apartment at 4am, due to my hair being lioness like, I was sporting what resembled a pineapple on the top of my head to keep the heat off my back!

I partied way into to the night and still managed to perk up the next day( due to an excess of full fat coke and lots of carb mmmm)  for the Juicy fashion show hosted at The Mall of the Emirates and to my delight found a picture of myself on the style board from the previous show DKNY !

I met some lovely people in amongst these activities and I'm very excited for many adventures ahead!

Go crazy for Nasimi !

A few weeks ago I ventured to Dubai to work and I shall be living here until further notice. Scary I know but luckily for me , my dear friend Edd moved at nearly exactly the same time so thank god I have one person to hang out with ! That is when I'm not swamped with work.

In Dubai its slightly strange their weekend falls on Friday and Saturday instead of the normal Saturday and Sunday , Weird ! So Friday is brunch and all the residents go mad for it , as prices start at £25 for all you can eat and drink. This Friday just gone I ventured with Edd and his work mates to Atlantis, one of the more superior of brunches at £72, I decided to splash out because I had a free ticket to the DXB Festival at Nasimi Beach ( Atlantis's resident beach ) .

At brunch my eyes were opened to hundreds of young trendy people everywhere and an outstanding choice of food and beverage ; Mojito stands , Sushi , Thai , American Cuisine , Jaegermister stands , Pinacoladas in ACTUAL coconut's , every thing you could ever dream of !

It was amazing , and we were all rather merry by the time we ventured to Nasimi ,Edd started to line drinks up , when this happens you know its time to leave !

The DXB Festival then kicked off and we were dipping in the sea , soaking up the last of the sun before the main acts started. There were 3 stages ; The Dance Tent , DXB Stage and Nasimi Stage .

Nasimi was the main stage , and we saw LMFAO play which was super cool as everyone was popping out their moves and singing along . Due to the fact their latest song ' Sexy and I Know it ' has just hit the charts.

Last friday was a wonderful day , so if you ever visit Dubai you have to experience a ' superior ' brunch!

Notting hill Carnival = time to pull out those rasta wigs !

August bank holiday weekend came awfully quickly. Notting hill carnival to me , means the end of summer is looming ! Now its time to be cold, miserable and actually maybe think about doing some work.

This year there was a lot of spectacle, that carnival could get more out of hand than usual due to the horrible attacks London had faced in the upcoming weeks. Notting hill was was one of the areas badly affected and it was extraordinary, yet heartbreaking - walking around seeing , shops boarded up everywhere - even one of my favourite destinations The Bumpkin pub on Ladbroke Grove was boarded up.

Despite these attacks, carnival still went on and in my eyes it was even more spritely than ever. I spent the day dancing with my friends at Gaz's Bar. ( A well know reggae and ska club in soho, formerly known as the St Moritz club ) which had been bought to carnival in the form of a bus. Live music is my all time favourite and the musicians and atmosphere was amazing !

It shows that not even the looters could stop this event being as weird and wonderful as ever!

Ibiza, the town that never sleeps!

                                                               Flower Power

Catty , Emily and I with Jared Letto - 30 Seconds to Mars in Privilige

Sandy beaches, clear blue seas and the best dj's in the world , what more can you dream of?

Swedish house Mafia every monday at Pacha and also wednesdays 6-10 at Aura ! The biggest dj's become residents in Ibiza for the summer.

My trip to Ibiza was something special. Staying with my dear friend Catty, in between San Rafael and Ibiza Town. I witnessed a place unlike anywhere else in the world I have ever been.

Having only been to Ibiza when i was the tender age of 7 , my only memory from this trip, was being stung by a jelly fish on jockey beach and then my father turning round to me and saying ' Darling you need to pee on yourself and then the sting will go'. Obviously as a real girly girl , the thought of this was completely disgusting , so I've been petrified of the creatures ever since.

So obviously by the age of 7 , I had not quite mastered clubbing. So this year , my mind opened to the best clubs in the world. Privilege , which was very close to where I was staying - is the largest club in Europe , capacitating 10,000 people, we were lucky enough to go to this club twice.

On the first night it was Flower Power at Pacha which only happens once a month and is the most popular night in Ibiza , so I was told. This happened to be my favourite night , filled with hippy, happy people. Dancing to old school hits. Classic.

The shopping in Ibiza is also fantastic! In Ibiza main town you have some high street shops , for example - Zara , Pull & Bear ( both owned by inditex) and All-Saints. But as you venture up towards the old time , you will find some beautiful vintage , hand-made , tie dye and one off pieces. Its tremendous although pricey !

Also you must check out the Hippy Market which runs every saturday and wednesday , cheaper than in the town but still quirky and cool.

Book now , for next year . Its a must !

Glastonbury – The land of fairytales

One word could only describe Glastonbury and that is MAGICAL!

The way I see it, it is the King or slightly more feminine, the Queen of all festivals. For starters this years headliners were mind blowing; Coldplay, U2, Beyonce. What more could you want?

Glastonbury to me is like a dream world, a chance to bring all tye dye, sparkly and crazy items of clothing out of the closet and act like a hooligan or fly like a fairy!
Not that I don’t wear tie-dye everyday, but at Glastonbury it is legal and not frowned upon!

The fields of Avalon, Greenpeace and Healing world, and the general buzz and atmosphere of Worthy Farm are all enchanting. Every one is just so HAPPY!

This year happened to be very muddy, a big difference from last years 40 degree heat wave. When walking around you would suddenly find you only have one welly and suddenly have to retrace your foot steps to see where it might have accidently got stuck … but nobody minds they just embrace it, and after all we all have washing machines don’t we?

The Troubadour – A Time machine of Music

A few weeks ago – The Forty Thieves the band that I sing in were lucky enough to play at The Troubadour , a venue on the Old Brompton Road ( Earls Court ) , which has been the start of a career for many famous musicians. Bob Dylan himself played his first ever show in London at The Troubadour itself. Others to play there include Jimmy Hendrix , Led Zeppelin and Pete Doherty.
Its friendly cosy and tavern like atmosphere , ensures you a good evening !

I thoroughly enjoyed playing there and even better , we had a great number of friends supporting ( quite often they wont come to venues they haven’t heard of).

Tip : If you get there earlier enough , check out the restaurant upstairs the food is divine.
